In 1986, arthur "Art" rae, founder of the valley chorus, produced and directed what has became the pinnacle of all valley chorus productions; his brilliant full-scale theatrical staging of "The sound of music". Art chose a highly energetic, youthful and extremely talented vocalist, debra patterson for the lead role as maria von trapp; and concert pianist larry w. Hoey to be his production accompanist. In 2014, this musical duo reunited to carry forth the torch art passed on to them so many years ago. There is no doubt under their leadership, the hills surrounding our beautiful valley will remain alive with the sound of music.
